About the Role

Khushposh is looking for a Product Developer to support the development of new apparel products from initial concept through sampling and production readiness.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands garments, construction, measurements, fabrics and the apparel development process.

You will work closely with the founders, production team, pattern masters, sample units, factories and suppliers to turn ideas, reference images and physical garments into clear technical specifications and finished samples.

This role goes beyond simply creating tech packs. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive and capable of taking ownership of the development process — from receiving an idea to getting the product developed, revised and ready for production.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Tech Packs

  • Convert reference images, physical garments, sketches and product ideas into detailed tech packs.
  • Create clear technical drawings and garment specifications.
  • Prepare measurement charts and points of measurement.
  • Document construction details, stitching, seams, pockets, trims, hardware, labels and finishing requirements.
  • Add relevant fabric, wash, color and trim references.
  • Update tech packs after each sample revision and maintain proper version control.
  • Ensure factories and sample teams are always working from the latest approved specifications.

Sample Development & Coordination

  • Coordinate first samples, revised samples, size sets and pre-production samples.
  • Communicate product requirements clearly to pattern masters, sample teams, vendors and factories.
  • Follow up regularly on pending samples and development timelines.
  • Coordinate fabrics, trims, buttons, zippers, labels, wash references and other components required for sampling.
  • Translate founder feedback into clear and actionable instructions for manufacturers.
  • Ensure revisions are properly communicated and reflected in subsequent samples.

Sample Checking & Quality Review

  • Measure samples against approved measurement charts.
  • Identify and document measurement discrepancies.
  • Check garment construction, stitching, trims, placement and finishing against the tech pack and approved reference.
  • Photograph and document samples where required.
  • Prepare clear sample review notes before founder/product review.
  • Maintain a record of changes requested across each sample version.

Product Development Tracking

  • Maintain a master product-development tracker for all ongoing and upcoming products.
  • Track products through stages including:

Concept → Tech Pack → Fabric → Sample 1 → Review → Revision → Sample 2 → Approval → Costing → Production

  • Maintain timelines and expected completion dates.
  • Follow up with relevant teams and vendors without requiring constant reminders.
  • Flag delays, missing information or potential issues early.
  • Provide regular updates on development progress.

Fabric, Trim & Sample Library

  • Maintain an organized physical and digital library of fabrics, denim qualities, trims, buttons, zippers, labels, wash swatches and other development materials.
  • Record relevant information including composition, GSM/weight, supplier, price and specifications.
  • Properly organize development samples, rejected samples and approved samples.
  • Ensure final approved samples are clearly labeled and preserved as production standards.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination

  • Coordinate with existing fabric suppliers, manufacturers, washing units and trim vendors.
  • Follow up on quotes, samples, fabrics and other development requirements.
  • Help source new materials or development options when required.
  • Maintain organized records of suppliers, pricing and lead times.
  • Ensure suppliers receive complete and accurate product information.

Costing Support

  • Collect stitching, fabric, washing, trim and manufacturing quotations.
  • Maintain preliminary product costing sheets.
  • Highlight changes in cost when specifications, fabrics or trims are revised.
  • Support the founders and production team with information required for final costing decisions.

Production Handover

Once a product is approved:

  • Prepare the final production-ready tech pack.
  • Confirm approved measurements, fabric, trims, color, wash and construction details.
  • Ensure the production team has the latest approved specifications.
  • Coordinate size sets and pre-production samples where required.
  • Compare production samples against the final approved sample.
  • Ensure there are no unresolved development issues before bulk production begins.

Product Research

  • Research garments, construction methods, silhouettes, fabrics, trims and manufacturing techniques.
  • Gather visual and technical references for new concepts.
  • Assist in identifying construction terminology and solutions for unfamiliar garments.
  • Research competitor products and relevant market references where required.
  • Help translate inspiration into technically executable products.

General Product Support

  • Maintain product-development folders, style codes, product information and records.
  • Organize samples and materials for product meetings.
  • Coordinate sample pickups, deliveries and movement between vendors where required.
  • Assist with day-to-day product and production tasks.
  • Support the founders with product-related research, follow-ups and execution.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Good understanding of garment construction and apparel development.
  • Ability to create accurate and detailed tech packs.
  • Understanding of garment measurements and measurement specifications.
  • Ability to create technical garment drawings using Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple product developments simultaneously.
  • Confidence communicating with pattern masters, tailors, factories and vendors.
  • Ability to interpret visual references and translate them into manufacturing instructions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and execution.

Preferred Background

Experience in one or more of the following would be preferred:

  • Fashion design
  • Technical design
  • Apparel product development
  • Garment manufacturing
  • Pattern making
  • Sampling
  • Denim development
  • Fabric sourcing
  • Apparel production

A formal fashion or textile qualification is beneficial, but practical garment knowledge, technical ability, organization and execution skills are more important to us than the degree itself.

Experience

Ideally 1–3 years of relevant experience in apparel development, technical design, sampling, garment manufacturing or a related role.

Strong fresh graduates with excellent technical understanding, garment knowledge and tech-pack skills may also be considered.

Probation & Performance Expectations

The position begins with a 3-month probation period.

During this period, the candidate will be evaluated on:

  • Technical and garment-development ability
  • Accuracy of tech packs and measurements
  • Speed of learning
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication with vendors and internal teams
  • Organization and follow-up
  • Ability to manage multiple developments
  • Ownership and independence

By the end of probation, the candidate should be able to manage most routine product-development work with limited supervision, including tech packs, sample coordination, measurement checking, revisions, vendor follow-ups and development tracking.

Successful completion of probation and movement to the PKR 100,000 post-probation salary will be subject to satisfactory performance against the expectations of the role.

What Success in This Role Looks Like

Over time, we want this person to be able to receive a product idea or reference from the founders and independently move most of the development process forward.

For example, if you are given:

  • A reference image or garment
  • A general fit direction
  • Desired fabric or wash
  • A few specific design changes

You should be able to manage:

Research → Tech Pack → Sampling → Follow-up → Sample Checking → Founder Review → Revisions → Resampling → Final Approval → Production Handover

The objective of this role is to make Khushposh's product-development process faster, more structured and less dependent on constant founder involvement in day-to-day follow-ups.
